This was brought on because of the passage of Senate Bill 1072 which, by our interpretation, prevented us from requiring as a condition of the move any improvement , even to bring the building up to present building, electrical and plumbing code standards. On September 8, 1978, City staff sent a letter to r1r. Xavier riendoza, Chief , Department of Housing and Community Development , outlining the minimum health and safety requirements that the City has imposed on moved buildings and questioning as to why we could not continue to require minimum standards of health and safety.
