HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 1993-17011 RESOLUTION NO. 17011 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA SUPPORTING SANDAG IN THE SUBMITTAL OF AN APPLICATION FOR GRANT FUNDS UNDER THE PROPOSITION 116 CLEAN AIR AND TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENT ACT, BICYCLE PROGRAM WHEREAS, the Clean Air and Transportation Improvement Act (CATIA) makes available $20 million State-wide to fund a 5-year program of competitive grants to local agencies for capital outlay for bicycle improvement projects which improve safety and convenience for bicycle commuters; and, WHEREAS, on November 20, 1992, SANDAG submitted an application for Proposition 116 Bicycle Funds totalling $750,000 for a portion of the Bay Route Bikeway known as the Sweetwater River crossing; and, WHEREAS, the Clean Air and Transportation Improvement Act requires that a local public agency adopts a resolution approving the submittal; and WHEREAS, in accordance with said requirements, SANDAG has requested that the City of Chula Vista support the subject application. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby support SANDAG in the submittal of an application for grant funds under the Proposition 116 Clean Air and Transportation Improvement Act, Bicycle Program.
