RESOLUTION NO. 16989
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHULA
VISTA AUTHORIZING THE INSTALLATION OF DELINEATORS AS A
TEMPORARY MEASURE ON A PORTION OF THE 100 BLOCK OF "E"
STREET
WHEREAS, at the City Council meeting of March 27, 1992, a resolution was
approved lowering the speed limit for the 100 block of "E" Street from 35 mph to
30 mph and authorized the installation of a 4' wide painted traffic median on E
Street between Second Avenue and Minot Avenue; and,
WHEREAS, the double-double painted median was installed on March 25, 1992
to eliminate left turns across opposing traffic; and,
WHEREAS, staff believes that additional enforcement of the turn prohibition
and speed limit; and,
WHEREAS, the Safety Commission, at its meeting of December 10, 1992, voted
5-0-2 with Commissioners Braden and Matacia absent to recommend to the City
Council that a raised asphalt median be installed on "E" Street between Second
Avenue and the 100 block of Minot Avenue.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Chula
Vista does hereby authorize the installation of delineators as a temporary
measure on a portion of the 100 block of "E" Street.
