The Electrical Cor.tractors ' - ASSOCiation has requested the
San Diego Area Chapter of I .C.B.O. to try to establish a
uniform and simplified metho3 of determining electri.cal
permit fees. The reason for this is so that anyone may
determine what the fee ill be without requiring a journey-
man electrician to go ±hrough the plans . The I .C. B.O. has
proposed a simplified method which has te sanction of the
Contractors ' Association even though, i some feca cases , *_he
fee is slinhtly higher. The Cities of I3nperial Beach,
; Carlsbad and La Mesa have nor adopted the fees.
It is the unanimous recommendation of tYce Board of Appeals
L-hat the City Council adopt ;n ordinance approving the
new electrical permit fees .

In keeping with the City Council 's request to have our ordinances
as uniform as possible with other jurisdictions in San Diego County,
the Board of Appeals at a meeting held Monday, January 10, 1972,
recorrmends the adoption of a simplified method of determining
electrical permit fees.
The simplified method of determining electrical permit fees has
the complete approval of the Electrical Contractors ' Association
of San Diego. This method will save them money in that they will
not have to pay an electrician to figure the fees. The cities of
Imperial Beach, Carlsbad and La Piesa have now adopted the proposed
fees.
It is the unanimous recommendation of the Board of Appeals that the
City Council adopt an ordinance approving the new electrical permit
fees.
