ROLL CALL:

Jeremiah Ivie, Chula Vrsta resident, expressed concem regarding mind-invasive fechnology.
John Hess, representing the Intemabonal Association o( Fire Fighters (IAFF), expressed the union's
concems regard�ng lack o/support of the department.
Luanne Hulsizer, representing the Third Avenue Village AssociaGOn (TAVAJ, expressed graGtude [o the
Council and Cdy staH and provided an update on the organizahon.

CITY MANAGER'S REPORTS
There were none.
MAYOR'S REPORTS
Ma}ror Cox recognized Port Commissioner Ann Moo2 fo�her service as Chair of the Commission.
COUNCILMEMBERS' COMMENTS
Deputy Ma}ror Aguilar announced her upcoming open o�ce hours which would be held on January 16,
2014, on the topic of Chula Vsta's homeless populahon. She also expressed concem regarding
deterioration ol the west side of the City, as well as the Fire DepaRmenPs lecent vofe ol no confidence
Counalmember 8ensoussan announced the following events that would be held on January 25, 2074:
Unleashed's pet fest, celebrating the company's fourth anniversary, as well as a Chula Vista Garden
Club dedication ceremony for the aromatic gaNen at the South Chula Vsta branch librery. She also
announced a Friends of the Chula Vista Library event with radio host Grant Barrett, which would be held
on January 26, 2014.
Counci/member Rami2z expressed ooncem 2garcling ongoing labor negotiafions and spoke in support
of the Council2considenng its negotiation feam.
Cify Manager Sandoval provided information regarding his 2sponse to IAFF's concems and iesponded
to the Council's concems.
At the request of Councilmembe� Ramiraz, there was consensus of the Council to schedule an item on
an upcoming agenda 2garding negotiations.
Councilmember Salas spoke in support of continuing fhe conversation regartiing labor negotiations in
closed session.
Ma}ror Cox paid tribute fo (ortne� City Manager John Goss and former Police Agent Steve Guthne, and
stated the meeting would be adjoumed in their honor.
Ma}ror Cox announced that the Council would convene in closed session to discuss the items listed
below
Mayor Cox iecessed the meeling af 4:04 p.m. The Council reconvened in Closed Session at 4:15 p.m.,
with all members present.
CLOSED SESSION
Pursuant to Resolution No. 13706 and Council Policy No. 346-03, Official Minutes and
records of action taken during Closed Sessions are maintained by the City Attorney.
