� � THE CITY COiP_vCIL OF THE CIT] OF CINLA VISTA DOES HERE-
BY R�SOLVE AS FOLLOWS: �
1. That certain contract between the City of Chula
� Vista and the firm of COATES, HERF'URTH and ENGL�ND, Con-
sulting Actuaries for making an. investigation and valua-
tion as stated in said contract has been read by said City
Council and is hereby approved, and the riayor and the
City- Clerk of the City of Chula V"ista are hereb3r authorized
and directed to execute said contract for and on behalf of
the City .of Chula Vista. .

The next to the last paragraph in Form Letter 529� sent to you early in
September, referred to .a contract form to be executed between the legislative !
body and the Consulting Actuary� rJith reference to the irrvestigations and ��
valuations explained in the letter. Approximate costs of the valuatior.s pre- �
viously frere quoted to be used by public agencies in naking the necess� �.�R ��D
budget rsovisior.s for 195li-55.
The contract form has been prepared, and is enclosed in quadruplicate. �`,�1��
Three copies of the contract, properly executed� should be returned as soon as �
possible,
I believe the contract zrlll be self-explanatory. The item.s under paragraph
2 ir. the contract, agree rri th the statement of your desires in our Form 530, con-
pletod by you and returned to the Retirement Office recently, If you did not
return Form 530� it has been assiur,ed the agency does not rrish any supplemental
valuations.
`Ihe fee stated in iten 6 of the contract is based on the nur�ber o£ members
given in item 3. as explained in our letter of June 18, 1951�. �10 remittance is
to be sent by you until you receive a statement fron the Actuaries, follorring
corepletion of the z•rork,
If you Vrant further information before executing the contract and returning
three copies of it to the Retirea:ent Of£ice for execution by the Consulting
Actuary, and approval by the Board of Administratior.� I shall be glad to hear
from you. A cepy oi the contract will be returned to you after approval by the
Board. �
