AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA EXTENDING
THE MORATORIUM ZMPOSED BY ORDINANCE NO. 1457 REGULAT-
ING GRADING� CONSTRUCTION AND LAND USE IN THE FLOOD
PLAIN AREA IN LOWER SWEETWATER VALLEY WITHIN THE CITY
OF CHULA VISTA FOR THE AREA EAST OF PROPOSED INTER-
STATE 805 AND DECLARING THE URGENCY THEREOF
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Chula Vista has
heretofore , by Ordinance No. 1457 , a copy of which is attached hereto
and incorporated herein by reference as if set forth in full, establish-
ed a moratorium on grading, construction and land use in the flood
plain area in lower Sweetwater Valley within the City of Chula Vista,
and declared the urgency thereof, and
_ WHEREAS, the City Council now determines that it is necessary
to extend said moratorium for an additional ninety (90) day period,
from and after June 24 , 1973 .
The City Council of the City of Chula Vista does ordain
as follows :
SECTION I : The City Council hereby extends the moratorium
imposed by Ordinance No. 1457 for the flood plain area lying east of
proposed I-805 and eliminates from said moratorium the flood plain
area west of I-805. Said moratorium to extend to and until September 24,
1973 .
SECTION II : This ordinance shall become effective upon
its first reading and adoption if passed by at least four (4) affirma-
tive votes of the City Council as an interim ordinance and an emergency
measure.
