RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA CITY COUNCIL
APPROVING A STREET NAME CHANGE FOR THE SEGMENT OF
EAST ORANGE AVENUE BETWEEN HUNTE PARKWAY AND
WUESTE ROAD TO OLYMPIC PARKWAY
I. RECITALS
A. Project Site
WHEREAS, the proposal is to change the name of the segment of East Orange Avenue
between Hunte Parkway and Wueste Road. This segment of East Orange Avenue is
diagrammatically represented in Exhibit A attached hereto and incorporated by this reference
and identified as "Project;" and,
B. Project; Application for Discretionary Approval
WHEREAS, On July 16, 1995, the City of Chula Vista ("Applicant") filed an application
requesting to rename the above mentioned segment of East Orange Avenue "Olympic
Parkway" ("Project"); and,
C. Planning Commission Record on Application
WHEREAS on February 28, 1996, the Planning Commission considered the above
mentioned request and after hearing staff's presentation and public testimony approved the
street name change by a 6-0 vote (with one Commissioner absent); and,
D. City Council Record of Applications
WHEREAS, the City Clerk set the time and place for a hearing on the street name
change and notice of said hearing, together with its purpose, was given by its publication in
a newspaper of general circulation in the city and it mailing to property owners and tenants
within 1,000 feet of the exterior boundaries of the property at least 10 days prior to the
hearing; and,
WHEREAS, at the City Council meeting, at which this Resolution was adopted, March
26, 1996, the City Council of the City of Chula Vista approved the street name change.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council does hereby find, determine
and resolve as follows:
II. PLANNING COMMISSION RECORD
The proceedings and all evidence introduced before the Planning Commission at their
public hearing on this project held on February 28, 1996, and the minutes and resolutions
resulting therefrom, are hereby incorporated into the record of this proceeding.

III. CERTIFICATION OF COMPLIANCE WITH CEQA
The Environmental Review Coordinator has determined that the project is exempt from
environmental review as class 1 (c) exemption.
IV. NOTICE OF DETERMINATION
The City Council directs the Environmental Review coordinator to post a notice of
determination and file the same with the County Clerk.
V. ADOPTION OF RESOLUTION
In light of the facts stated above and the public testimony presented at the hearing,
the City Council hereby approves the street name change for the segment of East Orange
Avenue between Hunte Parkway and Wueste Road to Olympic Parkway.
