ARTICLE II. MAINTENANCE The streets will be maintained by o^ un3er the direct supervision of the city . Maint°nance shall be as defined in Section 27 of the St^eets and High*�ays Code which is not in confllct with Section 195 of the Code . Maintenance work shall be adequate to preserve and keep the roadway, structures and facilities in the safe and usable condition to whic_^_ they have been improved or constructed, and pro- vision shall be made for constantly making needed repaire to Dreserve a smooth su^face . Any city-owned equipment used for the maintenance work may be charged for uoon a re�tsl basis to cover de- preclation and repairs in case rental rates al^eady nave been estsblished by the city; otherwise , allowance for 3e- preciation and repairs may be chGrged for as approved by the de�artment . -2- ARTICLE III. Such sup- plemental Ggreement shall be v�lid only when executed by the city and the department . All funds allocated under the provisions of 3ection 2107 of the Streets and Highways Code in excess oP such funds budgeted herein for expenditure will accumulate for future budgeting and exp�nditure . ARTICI.E �j, FINAL �REPORTS _ The city will submit such reports as requlred by law in such det�il as required by the department . The reporte _ shall show in full all expenditures from all other funde as well as expenditurea from the special gas tax street improvenent fund. Within sixty days after the close of the fiscal year en3ing June 30, 19 5�� the city shall submit to the depart- , ?aent a statement of expenditures made from the apecial gas tzx street improvement fund during the preceding year for the maintenance of the streets described in Article I . t�iaintenance expenditures shall be analyzed by func- _ tions and ob,jects as follows: - Funct�ons : ( 1) Trzvelled way, incluning roadside and improved shoulders . ( 2) Struotures . (3 ) Safety d=vices, including stop si�ns , >utomatic signals, traffic �tripes and parking stripes . ( 4) Street cleaning, including the removal of anow - or sand drift .- Objects : ( 1) Operating expense . (3) Salaries and wsges . ( 4) ,�auipment . —5— -_ . Within sixty days after completion of any item of �. the budget for surveys and plans , acquisition of ri�ht of' way or construction, the city will subsit to the depart- ment F final report of expenditures made for such work. �- The re�orts shall be in the following for�: . RIGHT OF WAY: Expenditures shall be segregated by parcels and payoent for each parcel analyzed as follows: (1) Value of lsnd taken. ( 2 ) Severance damages less benefits . (3 ) Moving improvenents . ( 4) Damages by change of grade , etc:- Where removing, reatoring or altering improve�ents is not included in the payment for the land, the exoendi- = tures for such items shali be reported for each parc2l or ownership. The report shall also show expen3itures for _ salary of right of way agent and miscellaneous expendi- turee such as title reports, agent ' s expense account, auto- �obile operation, etc . ; these expenditures being analyzed by the three ob�ects : (1) Operating expense.
