RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHULA
VISTA APPROVING AGREEMENT WITH UNISYS CORPORATION
FOR THE LICENSING OF SOFTWARE FOR THE UNISYS
MAINFRAME COMPUTER AND FINANCING THE COST
THROUGH UNISYS LEASING CORPORATION
WHEREAS, in September of 1990, the City of Chula Vista installed a new
mainframe computer, the Unisys V-430 which included as part of the purchase agreement a
five-year lease of the system software; and
WHEREAS, the system software includes the operating system, COBOL
compiler, and the data base management system; and
WHEREAS, all of these software products are proprietary products from Unisys
and are licensed directly from Unisys; and
WHEREAS, the license agreement will expire in August and must be renewed;
and
WHEREAS, the full three-year license cost of $74,964.20 is due upon renewal.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED the City Council of the City of Chula Vista
does hereby approve an Agreement with Unisys Corporation for the licensing of software for
the Unisys mainframe computer in cash, a copy of which is on file in the office of the City
Clerk known as Document No. CO95-132.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor of the City of Chula Vista is hereby
authorized and directed to execute said agreement for and on behalf of the City of Chula Vista
