HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 1998-18927 RESOLUTION NO. 18927 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA SUPPORTING ASSEMBLY BILL 1685, DISTRICT BOUNDARIES WHEREAS, Assembly Bill 1685 (Hertzberg) would require county boards of supervisors and general law cities to conform their district boundaries to the boundaries of existing communities of interest; and WHEREAS, this action should protect Chula Vista from any future county redistricting which might divide the community among multiple supervisorial districts; and WHEREAS, the proposal also, then, sets precedent and provides strong rationale for requesting the State to follow the same process in drawing their Assembly and Senate district lines. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED the City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby support Assembly Bill 1685, District Boundaries. Presented by Approved as to form by S n M.
