In accordance to the amendment to the Pianning Commission Membership, Section 2.42.030, a minimum of three members of the Planning Commission should be persons sensitive to design consideration and interested in townscape matters. Persons qualified for these seats should include architects, landscape architects, land planners, urban planners, civil engineers and other design professionals with suitable experience. One current Commissioner, Yolanda Calvo, has expertise as a Civil Engineer. Therefore, the two vacancies must be filled by individuals with expertise as architects, landscape architects, land planners, urban planners, civil engineers or other design professionals with suitable experience. Attached for your review are 15 applications. Please note, when the Design Review Board (DRB) became inactive in July, two members remained on the DRB, Mario Fragomeno and Javier Nava, both of whose applications for the Planning Commission are included. Please complete the attached nomination form by circling the names of applicants you would like to nominate for interviews. Applicants who receive at least two nominations will be scheduled for an interview. Please return the completed nomination form to Jennifer Quijano no later than noon, Friday, September 13. Planning Commission interviews are scheduled for Wednesday, September 25 at 4 p.m. in the Executive Conference Room. The final interview schedule will be provided to you , closer to the interview date.
