HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 1961-2608 -- RESOLUTION NO 2608 RESOLllrICtl OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY"OF CHUIA VISTA URGEING SUPPORT OF SENATE BILL~ 857 WHEREAS, the ,grow.itig~ veteran',popula ti6nc.and:thecagitig,lof many veterans has created a need for additional State veterans' "'.." facilities in Southern Californ~a, and WHEREAS, it appears that the Corona Naval Hospital, including building and grounds, located at Norco, California, would be available to the State of California for use as a home and care center for California Veterans of all wars, and Im.EREAS, said buildings and grounds are suitable for a veterans' home and care center, and ~nIEREAS, said site would assist in filling the needs, of ,- the veterans of the City of San Diego, as well as all veterans of Southern California, for many years to come, and W~~, the Committee of Veterans' Organizations of the City arid County of San Diego and City of Chula Vista strongly support the creation of such a home and center at Norco, California; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Chula Vista, as follows: Tha t this Council, for i tsel:f ~d 'on b~ba1f of ',tl:1e" citizens of the City of Chula Vista, strongly supports, urges and . .
