PUBLIC CO~~gNTS
Stan O'Hoppe; Chula Vista resident; expressed concern regazding skateboazders and bicyclisu in
pedestrian azeas, and other concerns regarding quality of life in Chula Vista.
Cazla i%illa; Chula Vista resident; spoke regazding the settlement of litigation pertaining to the
Telephone User`s Tax and announced the deadline to claim a refund was July 31.
PUBLIC HEARINGS
9. CONSIDERATION OF THE SALE OF SPACE 37 AT ORANGE TREE

Notice of the hearing was given in accordance with legal requirements; and the hearing was held
on the date and no earlier than the time specified in the notice.
Manor Cox opened the public hearing. There being no members of the public who wished to
speak; Manor Cox closed the public hearing.
ACTION: Councilmember Salas moved to adopt Resolution 2013-0~6; headins read. text
waived. Councilmember Aeuilaz seconded the motion. and it carried 4-0.

Mayor Cox announced that former Solana Beach Mayor; Joe Kellejian; encourased other cities ~
in the region to follow Chula Vista and ban smoking in outdoor restaurant patios. v
13. COUNCILI`gMBERS' COATn4ENTS
Councihnember Bensoussan:
A. Consideration of City endorsement of the second annual Chula Vista po«wow "South
Bavfront Pow~Vow." to be held on the ba~~front August 10, and 11.2013.
At the request of Deputy Mayor Bensoussan; there was consensus of the Council to endorse the
second annual Chula Vista po~~lvow; "South Bayfront PowWow."
Deputy Mayor Bensoussan announced the Hazbor Fest scheduled for September 21. 2013 and
that the Port District would be donating 530,000 for the event.
B. Consideration of declaring September as Arts Month and adopt it as Arts Month on an
annual basis in perpetuity.
Item 13B was not heazd.
A4avor Cox announced that the Council ~+ould not convene in Closed Session and that Items 1~I
and 13 would not be heazd.
