Also, if the mph reduction is applied; the Engineering and Traffic Survey shall document in wTiii_ng the conditions and justification for the lower speed limit and be approved by a registered Civil or Traffic Eneineer: and W7-IEREAS, based on the S5~' percentile speed of the roadway, as well as other roadway characteristics outlined in the Engineering/Traffic Survey, staff has determined that the speed limit on Brandywine Avenue should be increased to 40 mph from Olympic Parkway to East Palomar Street: and \VHEREAS; on lone ~; 20I3; the City of Chula Vista Safety Commission concurred with staff s recommendation that the speed limit on Brand}~'ine Avenue between Oh_•trtpic Parkway and East Palomar Street should be 40 mph; and \\%I-IEREAS, this recommendation and other information in the Cit}• Ensineer's report has been fully considered b}• the City Council. Pale 2 NOR', THEREFORE; il'te City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby ordain as fol lo«~s: I. EST~.BLISH SPEED LIMIT That the speed limit on Brandywine Avenue between Olympic Parkway and East Palomar Sveet be established at 40 mph and Schedule X of the register maintained in the office of the City Engineer be amended to reflect the revised speed limit as follo«~s: 10.48.020 Schedule X -Established Speed Limits in Certain Zones -Designated Name of Street Beginning At Ending At Proposed Speed Limit Brandywine Avenue Olympic Parkway East Palomar Street 40 mph II.
