. _ RESOLUTION OF THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION ADOPTING
AN ENVIRONMENTAL TMPACT REPORT
WHEREAS, the Redevelopment Agency of the City of Chula Vista wishes to
proceed with the development of a section of the Bayfront Redevelopment Project,
and
WHEREAS, the proposed development consists of three phases, as follows:
First phase, an area located north of E Street between Bay Boulevard and
Interstate 5, consisting of a restaurant, a motel with 200 units and a recreational
- vehicle park contining approximately 77 spaces; second phase, the area located
between Bay Boulevard and Interstate 5, north of F Street, to consist of three
restaurants and a motel with approximately 100 units; third phase, improvements !
to Bay Boulevard between E Street and G Street,including curbs, gutters, sidewalk
and landscaping along the west side of the right of way, and
WHEREAS, it was determined that the project could have significant environ-
mental effects, and
WHEREAS, after reviewing proposals from environmental consultants to prepare
' draft and final Environmental Impact Reports on the project, Westec Services, Inc.
was selected to prepare the documents, and
WHEREAS, the Environmental Review Committee issued the draft Environmental
Impact Report on this project on November 22, 1978 for public and agency review
and comment, and
WHEREAS, legal notice of the availability of the draft Environmental Impact
Report was given through publication in a newspaper of general circulation on
November 30, 1978 and a notice of completion was filed with the Secretary of
Resources for the State of California, and
WHEREAS, a public hearing was held before the Planning Commission on
December 27, 1978 to receive comments on the draft Environmental Impact Report,
and
WHEREAS, all written comments and a response to those comments were
incorporated into the final Environmental Impact Report,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS:
From the facts presented to the Planning Commission, the Commission finds
- that EIR-79-6 on the proposed development of a section of the Bayfront Redevelop-
meet Project has been prepared in accordance with the California Environmental
Quality Act of 7970 and the Environmental Review Policy of the City of Chula
Vista and hereby certifies that the Planning Commission will consider the infor-
mation in the report as it reaches a decision on the project,
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION OF CHULA VISTA, CALIFORNIA
this 70th day of January, 7979 by the following vote, to-wit:
AYES: Commissioners O'Nei77, R. Johnson, Williams, Pressutti, Smith
G. Johnson and Stevenson
