In those positions I made determinations on a daily basis and had to adhere to rules and regulations in order to adjudicate claims. In addition I hold a BA in Criminal Justice. The ratification of these candidates has been placed on the August 5, 2008 Council agenda. Safety Commission: Catherine Johnson was born and raised in Chula Vista. Catherine returned to Chuta Vista and has been a resident for the past 10 years. Catherine is a claims consultant for Yum Brands which includes Taco Bell, Pizza Hut and KFC. Catherine is married and has two children. International Friendship Commission: Lilia Meza has been a resident of Chula Vista for the past 8 years. Lilia is a Spanish Dual Language teacher at Rancho del Rey middle school with the Sweetwater Union High School District. Lilia established and started a sister school program for the district with Spain. All terms expire June 30th of any given year. Since Ms. Johnson's term will "automatically" expire at the end of this month, there is no need for her to submit a letter of resignation. Additionally, I have mailed letters to all commissioners whose terms expire on June 30th and who are eligible to be considered for another term, to indicate on an enclosed postcard, whether or not they would like to serve another term. So, I would expect that Ms. Johnson's reply postcard will indicate a "no", which will serve as confirmation that she will not be serving a new term.
