THE CITY COUNCIL OP THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA WBS HEREBY RESOLVE
AS FOLLAWS:
That certain agreement between the City of Chula Vista and
' ,~llr. George Pretz for Planning Services, dated October I5, 1963
is hereby approved and the Dtayor and-City Clerk of the City of
' Chula Vista is hereby suthosized and directed to execute said
' agreement for and on'behalf of the City of Chula Yista.

WHEREAS, the Planning Department, for the past year, has been working
with a Consulting firm toward the development of a Master ?ian, artd
l;'t;EREAS, the Sketch Pian is nearing completion and mill scion be pre-
seated to the public, and
k'HEREAS, Flr. George H. Fretz, previous Director of ?lanniny, has been the
prime coordinator in the development of this plan, and
WHEREAS, Mr. Frets is no longer an employes of the City of Chula Vista, and
WHEREAS, the Commission feels his i;nowiedge and ability would be of great
benefit to the City in studying ehe Sketch Plan artd mating reeons~endations thereto,
and also to assist the Planning Staff in malting reconanendations cn the Planning
Co~mnission agenda items.

' TH[S AGREEMENT, made and executed this 15th day of October, 1963, by and between

. ~- WITNESSETH:
WHEREAS, City through its Planning Commission, and City Council are desirous of
having the Consultant periodically review the proposed Sketch Plan and assist the
- Planning Staff with reference to recommendations concerning Planning Commission
,, __.:: ~, ~-~~'~: ..~ agenda items, until such time as the City fills the position of Planning Director,
and
WHEREAS, the Consultant by virtue of his position in the last five years as
Planning Director is deemed to be qualified to undertake and perform the services
~'~ - hereinafter described, and
WHEREAS, the performance of -said work has been determined by the Lity to be in
the public interest,
IT IS HEREBY MUTUALLYAGREED BY AND BETWEEN THE CITY AND THE CONSULTANTS HERETO
AS FOLLOWS:
,' ~ 1. The program of work to be accomplished under the terms of this agreement
' shall be:
a, Study the sketch plan and other related documents of the master plan
~, and make recommendations thereon.
' ~~ b. Assist the Planning Staff in making recommendati ons'on Planning Commissi on
agenda items. .
2, Time limit of agreement:
a. Work will begin upon execution of this agreement and conclude within
three (3) months unless extended by mutual agreement between the City
and the Consultant.
3. Compensation for.work performed shall be Twenty-Five Dollars ($25.00) per day,
together with incidental expenses, and travel expenses for any given trip in the '
amount of Fifty Dollars ($50.00)-. It is understood that the Consultant will ~
_, provide a minimum of two (2) day's consultation per month. Payment shall be
made by the City upon receipt of a verified request.
- ~ 4. Cha nges. Any changes in this contract, including-any increase or decrease
~, in the frequency of Consultant's visitations shall be mutually agreed upon by

~. 5. Termi nation, The City may terminate this contract by giving written notice

7, The following are designated as representatives of parties to this agree-

a, City designates the Chief Administrative Officer as its
representative in all matters under this contract and all
notices given to the City of Chula Vista shall be addressed
to the Chief Administrative Officer, Civic Center, Chula Vista,
California.
~. ~ ~ b. Consultant is designated as George H. Fretz and ally, notices
. sent to Consultant shall be addressed to the above designated
representative at 630 West Second Street, Mesa, Arizona.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the City and the Consultant hereto have executed this
