HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 1965-3876P.ESOLUTION N0. 3876 P.ESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHU:vA VISTA AUTHOP~IZING T~I~ FILING OF AN APPLICATION FOP. FEDERAL GRANT TO ACQUIRE OPEN-SPACE LAND The City Council of the City of Chula Vista c'oes hereby resolve as follows: WHEREAS, Title IX of the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1965 provides for the making of grants by the Housing and I-Iome Finance Administrator to States and local tiublic bodies to assist them in the acquisition of permanent interests in land for open-space purposes where such acquisition is deemed essential to the pro_~er long-range development and welfare of urban areas in accordance with plans for the allocation of land for such purposes, and WHEREAS, the City of Chula Vista desires to acquire Fee Simple interest to certain lands known as the Bonita Valley Country Club and Rohr Park, which land, in accordance with the General Plan of the City of Chula Vista, adopted by Resolution No. 3519 on the 22nd day of September, 1964, is to be held and used for permanent open-space land for park and recreational purposes, and WHEREAS, it is determined that the total consideration to be paid for the acquisition of said interest will be $1,077,0.00.00 (Bonita Valley Country Club, $995,0.00.00; Rohr Park, $82,0.00.00). NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Chula Vista_ as follows: 1. That applications be made to the Housing and Home Finance Agency for grants in amounts authorized by Title IX of the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1965, which amounts are presently estimated to be $538,500.00 (Bonita Valley Country Club, $497,500.00; Rohr Park, $41,000.00), and that the City of Chula Vista will pay the balance of the consideration for the acquisition of such interest and the total of all related posts _from of^~er fur~~.s available to it. -1- 2. That the Mayor of the City of Chula Vista is hereby authorized and directed to execute and to file such applications with the Housing and Home Finance Agency, to provide additional information and to furnish such documents as may be required by said Agency, and to act as the authorized correspondent of the City of Chula Vista. 3. That the proposed acnuisition is in accordance with the General Plan of the City of Chula Vista, adopted by the City Council of the City of Chula Vista by Resolution tio. 3519, adopted September 22, 1964, for the preservation of permanent open-space land, and that, should said grant be made, the City of Chula Vista will retain said land for the use designated in said applications and approved by the Housing and Home Finance Agency.
