RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHULA
VISTA APPROPRIATING $25,000 FROM UNAPPROPRIATED
GENERAL FUND BALANCE FOR PROFESSIONAL SERVICES
RELATED TO ASSESSING POTENTIAL IMPACTS FROM THE
PROPOSED BROWN FIELD CARGO PORT EXPANSION AND
NOISE IMPACTS OF HELICOPTER FLYOVERS ORIGINATING
FROM REAM FIELD
WHEREAS, in June, 1998, Council authorized staff to hire a consultant to advise the
City on possible aviation noise and environmental impacts resulting from a proposed expansion
of Brown Field, with plans to turn Brown Field in a major Cargo facility and increased
helicopter activity over the City; and
WHEREAS, staff has been monitoring the progress of preliminary planning for the
Brown Field project and is now requesting an appropriation of $25,000 to cover the cost of
professional aeronautical environmental review services.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Chula Vista
does hereby appropriate $25,O00 from the unappropriated General Fund balance for
professional services related to assessing potential impacts from the proposed Brown Field
Cargo Port expansion and noise impacts of helicopter flyovers originating from Ream Field.
