Chula Vista Veteran's Home

• Chula Vista Veteran's Home Update: Steve Millikin stated there is very little change from last month's meeting.
The Christmas party was a success. There are currently 350 residents. Some of the buildings in the Veteran's
home are currently being worked on, which is causing some of the residents to be moved around.
The golf tournament is underway and is set for May 05, 2009. Due to the bad economy, North Island Credit Union
will not be sponsoring the golf tournament this year. North Island has been a sponsor in the past. $10,000-$12,000
is needed to be raised. Keith Blum suggested Wells Fargo and other banks be contacted for sponsorship.
• Chula Vista Veteran of the Year FY 09 -10 (Process and Chair assignment): Gene Pellerin stated he would like
VAC to review last year's applications from the Fire Department. Bobby Price suggested VAC start the process for
Veteran of the year tailored to County's requirements for Veteran of the Year.

^ City of Chula Vista website: Gene Pellerin stated the City of Chula Vista website has a link to the De artment of

Veteran's Affairs which has links for veterans.
• Chula Vista Civic Library Update: No update at this time.
• New members search for Price term out: Bobby Price and Steve Millikin are terming out in June 2009. Bobby Price
asked commissioners to spread the word that new members are needed for the VAC. Applications are available
online.
