This idea is supported through the Service Disabled Veteran Owned Business (SDVOB) program. This is a business, which has been self- certified for Federal procurements and State Certified by the State of California for State of California contracts. Ownership of the business (51 %) must be by one or more veterans with a service-connected disability. The business must be managed and controlled by one or more service-disabled veterans and the home office located in the United States and is not a branch of a foreign-based company. The Commission is interested in recommending to the City of Chula Vista that a program be established that provides a small percentage of open source contracts be granted to SDVOBs. Until the Chula Vista City Attorney provides guidance with regard to the commissions possible conflict of interest no action will be taken.
