RESOLUTION OPPOSING ASSEMBLY BILLS Nos. 1194, 1199, and 610
INTRODUCED AT THE 1963 REGULAR SESSION OF LEGISLATURE
WHEREAS certain proposed legislation has been introduced in the
State Legislature known as Assembly Bills Nos. 1194, 1199, and 610,
relating to maximum work hours, leaves of absence and civil service regula-
tions concerning municipal firemen, and
WHEREAS it is estimated that the provisions of said legislature
bills would substantially increase the cost of fire protection to the Oity
of Chula Vista to approximately thirty percent (30%), and
WHEREAS the City Council of the City of Chula Vista believes
that the subject matter of said proposed legislation are essentially local
matters, and should be disposed of at local levels,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council hereby
expresses its opposition to Assembly Bills Nos. 1194, 1199, and 610 for
the reasons hereinabove stated. The City Clerk is directed and authorized
to furnish copies of this Resolution to the Senator from the 40th
Senatorial District and the Assemblymen from the 76th, 77th, 78th, 79th,
and 80th Assembly Districts, and to all other interested parties so
requesting same.
ADOPTED AND APPROVED by the CITY COUNCIL of the CITY CF
CHULA VISTA, CALIFORNIA, this 12th,_day of March lye
