APPROVAL OF EXAMINATION ANNOUNCEMENTS No Items were submitted. 5. APPROVAL OF ELIGIBLE UST Peace Officer - Lateral A Open 08506103A MSC (SAUCEDO/MARRUFO) 4-0 To approve the Eligible List. (STEVENSON EXCUSED) 6. NEW BUSINESS - A. Appeal of (CSC.050) Staff confirmed dates and times for the next hearing. B. Appeal of Discipline (CSC.051) • The Appeal has been postpone until May 2009. 7• OTHER BUSINESS - A. Staffing Reports -Read Items only. B. Civil Service Rule -Sub-Committee Report Staff will forward the draft rules to the bargaining units for review. 8. COMMUNICATIONS A. Chair's Comments Chair Floros wished everyone a Happy New Year. B. Commissioners' Comments -None C. Staff Comments Marcia Raskin, Director of Human Resources informed the Commissioners that Council will be making a determination whether or not to declare a financial emergency at closed session and at the following meeting, City Council will be approving the City Manager's proposed Budget reductions. Ms. Raskin stated that 25 people are interested in the Golden Handshake. She added that two bargaining units have put off their cost of living increases, which will help save some positions. D. Public Comments -None 9.
