RESOLUTION OF THE (?ITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CHULA VISTA ACCEPTING BIDS AND AWARDING
CONTRACT TO T&M ELECTRIC, INC. db.a. PERRY ELECTRIC
FOR THE INSTALLATION OF STREET LIGHTS ALONG "E"
STREET BETWEEN FOURTtt AVENUE AND TOYON LANE IN
THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA (TF268) AND TRANSFERRING
$2,000 FROM THE COMPLETED MAIN AND DATE SIGNAL
PROJECT (TF232) AND $23,303 FROM THE COMPLETED
TRAFFIC SIGNAL LOOP REHAB PROJECT (TF252) FOR THE
CONSTRUCTION OF THE PROJECT
WHEREAS, on September 14, 1999, the Director of Public Works received the following
three sealed bids from electrical contractors R~r the installation of street lighting along "E" Street
between Fourth Avenne and Toyon Lane:

WHEREAS, the low bid of $128,100 lbr the project was received l~om T&M Electric, Inc.
d.b.a. Pen~ Electric, who has compleled several projects li~r the City in the past with favorable
performance, and has met all City requirements tier award of a contract as set lbah in the bid
document; and
WHEREAS, the City's Environmental Review Coordinator has reviewed the work involved
in this project and determined that the project is exempt tier CEQA both under CEQA Guidelines,
Section 15061 (b)(3) and Section 15303, ('?lass 3 (new consn'uction or conversion of small
structures); and
WHEREAS, the source of ltmding tin' this project is the Gas Tax Fund and contractors
bidding this project were not required to bid based on paying prevailing wages ~o persons employed
by them fbr the work under this contract: and
WHEREAS no special minority or x~omen-owned business requirements were necessa~ as
pan of the bid documents, however, disadvantaged businesses were encouraged [o bid through the
sending of the "Notice to Contractors" to various minority trade publications.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE 1T RESOI .VED lhe City Council oflhe City of Chula Vista does
hereby accept the three bids and awards the corm'act tin' the installation of street lights along "E"
Street between Fourth Average and Toyon I,anc in the City of Chula Vista to T&M Electric, Inc.
d.b.a. PenT Electric in the an~ount or $128, 100

BE IT FURTHER RESOI,VI£D that the Mayor ot' the City or' Chula Vista is hereby
authorized to execnte said contract on behall'ol~the City of Chula Vista, a copy of which shall be kept
on file in the office of the City Clerk.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the amonnt of $2,000 is hereby transferred from the
completed Main and Date Signal Project (TF232) and the amount of $23,303 is hereby transtrred
from the completed Traffic Signal Loop Rehab Project (TF252) into (TF268) 24592680 for the
construction of the prqiect
