RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CHULA VISTA AUTHORIZING TEMPORARY STREET
CLOSURES ON NOVEMBER 13, 1999, FOR AN ORGANIZED
BAND REVIEW SPONSORED BY THE CHULA VISTA HIGH
SCHOOL ASSOCIATED STUDENT BODY
WHEREAS, the Chula Vista High School Associated Student Body is requesting permission
to conduct an organized band review on November 13, 1999, from 10:00 a.m. to approximately 1:00
p.m.; and
WHEREAS, the proposed parade route is along Fourth Avenue, beginning at 'T' Street and
ending at "L' Street, south of Sears, walk east on 'T' to Fourth Avenue, (south on Fourth Avenue)
to the front of Chula Vista High SchoolL and
WHEREAS, in order to satHy and ett~ctively conduct the event on city streets, staff is
recommending tile coml~lete closure of [;uurth Avenue
NOW, THEREFORE, BE 1T RESOLVED tile City Council of the City of Chula Vista does
hereby authorize temporaiS7 street closures on November 13, 1999, for an organized band review
,,,_.. sponsored by the Chula Vista High School Associated Student Body subject to the following
conditions:
I. Provision of evidence ofcomnlercial general liability insurance in the amount orS1
million in the t~rm of a Certificate ot'lnsurance and Policy Endorsement naming the
City of Chula Vista as additional insured
2. Execution of a Hold Harmless Agreement.
3. Provision of adequate traffic control equipment and devices as determined by the
Police Department and Tra~lc Engineering Division. The sponsor would be
responsible tbr renting or purchasing the equipment and delivering and removing it
from designated locations.
4. Provision of adequate police services as detem~ined by tile Police Depamnent. The
sponsor will be responsible Rn' reinlbursing tile City fi.w all required police services.
5. Provision, posting and rendoval of"No-Parking" signs along the parade route.
6. Provision and removal of adequate portable toilets and trash receptacles at the parade
staging area and at Chula Vista High School.
7. Subrnittal in tile amount of $1,900 (50 percent of the projected staff costs required)
,.-,., five days prior to tile event. The remainder will be billed and payable to the City after
tile event has concluded
