® Ensure government's accountability to its citizens.
Provide a voice for citizen interests.
• Encourage citizen participation in the democratic
process.
Promote the numerous activities available at the
City's libraries.

Looking forward
Trustees have expressed
concern over issues that
affect the efficiency of the
libraries' functions and their
future direction.

More than Volunteers
Trustees are more than a group of
volunteers meeting once a month.
• They are the dedicated, supporting
body of involved, concerned
citizens devoting their time, effort
and energy to help maintain the
City's libraries at their optimum
level of achievement and service
to its citizens.

Moving Forward
• In order to have an efficient, dedicated
Board of trustees, it is the greatest
concern of the Trustees that their roles
i be recognized and employed by the
Council when matters concerning the
libraries are being considered and
before any final decisions are taken.
