RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA
GIVING NOTICE OF THE PROPOSED ANNEXATION TO THE CITY OF
CHULA VISTA AND THE CHULA VISTA CITY SCHOOL DISTRICT OF A
PORTION OF QUARTER SECTIONS 90 AND 91 OF RANCHO DE LA NACION
ACCORDING TO MAP THEREOF N0. 166 FILED IN THE OFFICE OF THE
COUNTY RECORDER, KNOWN AND DESCRIBED AS POGGI CANYON.
ANNEXATION
The City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby
resolve as follows:
WHEREAS, on the 31st day of
March
1966,
there was filed in the Office of the City Clerk of the City of Chula
Vista a written petition for the annexation to, incorporation and
inclusion in the City of Chula Vista of certain uninhabited territory
particularly described in said petition, and hereinafter described, in
the County of San Diego, State of California, which said territory is
contiguous to the City of Chula Vista, pursuant to the Annexation of
Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939, as amended.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Chula Vista as follows:
That pursuant to the terms and provisions of the Annexation
of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939, as amended, NOTICE I5 HEREBY
GIVEN of the proposed annexation to, incorporation and inclusion in
the City of Chula Vista of certain uninhabited territory in the County
of San Diego contiguous to the City of Chula Vista. The boundaries of
the territory so proposed to be annexed to the City of Chula Vista are
more specifically described as follows:
Those portions of Quarter Sections 90 and 91 of Rancho
de la Nacion according to Map thereof No. 166 filed in
the office of the County Recorder, County of San Diego,
State of California described as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the Easterly line of
the Westerly 500 feet of said Quarter Section 91 with
the Southerly boundary of said Rancho de la Nacion;
Thence Northerly along said Easterly line to the
Northerly line of the Southerly 500 feet of said Quarter
Section 91; Thence South 72°00'32" West, along said
Northerly line to the Westerly line of said Quarter
Section 91; Thence North 17°51'08" West, along said
Westerly line, 1083.70 feet to the Southwest corner
of Quarter Section 90; Thence North 71°21'02" East
664.89 feet (according to Record of Survey No. 6067,
records of said County) along the Southerly line of
said Quarter Section 90, to the Southwest corner of
the Southeast Quarter of the Southwest Quarter of
said Quarter Section 90; Thence North 18°40'48" West,

along the Westerly line of said Southeast Quarter,
659.55 feet to the Northerly line of said Southeast
Quarter; Thence North 71°21'05" East, along said
Northerly line, 664.77 feet to the Easterly line of
the Southwest Quarter of said Quarter Section 90;
Thence South 18°41'28" East, along said Easterly line,
659.54 feet to the Southerly line of said Quarter
Section 90; Thence continuing Southerly, along the
Westerly line of the Northwest Quarter of the North-
east Quarter of said Quarter Section 91, to the
Southwest corner of said Northwest Quarter; Thence
Easterly along the Southerly line of said Northwest
Quarter, to the Westerly line of the Easterly Half
of the Easterly Half of said Quarter Section 91;
Thence Southerly, along said Westerly line, to the
Southerly boundary of Rancho de la Nacion, being a
point on the Northerly line of Section 18, T18S, R2W
San Bernardino base and meridian; Thence South 71°59'
15" West, along said Southerly boundary and said
Northerly line to the Northwesterly corner of said
Section 18; Thence continuing along the Southerly
boundary of Rancho de la Nacion, South 72°00'32"
West 362.48 feet to the point of beginning.
and said territory is hereby designated as the POGGI CANYON ANNEXATION.
NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that Tuesday, the 17th day of
May , 1966 at the hour of 7:00 p.m. in the Council
Chambers of the City of Chula Vista, in the Civic Center at 276 Guava
Avenue are hereby set as the time and place for hearing protests
against the proposed annexation of said territory. At the hearing
on the annexation, the City Council shall hear protests from any
owner of property within the City who does not also own property in
the territory to be annexed. At any time not later than the said hour
set for hearing objections to the proposed annexation, any owner of
property within the territory proposed to be annexed may file written
protest against the proposed annexation. Such protest shall state
the name or names of the owner or owners of the property affected
thereby and the description and area of such property in general terms.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of said City be,
and he is hereby directed to cause a copy of this resolution to be
published at least twice, but not oftener than once a week in the
Chula Vista Star News, a newspaper of general circulation published
in said City, and also in a newspaper of general circulation published
outside of the City but in the County in which is located the territory
proposed to be annexed; said publication to be completed at least
twenty days (20) prior to the date set for the hearing.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of said City be,
and he is hereby directed to cause written notice of such proposed

annexation to be mailed to each person to whom land within the territory
proposed to be annexed is assessed in the last equalized county assess-
ment roll available on the date these proceedings are initiated, at
the address shown on said assessment roll, or as known to said Clerk,
and to any person who has filed his name and address and the designation
of the lands in which he has any interest, either legal or equitable,
with said Clerk. In the event any land within the territory proposed
to be annexed is owned by the County of San Diego, said City Clerk
shall also cause written notice of such proposed annexation to be
mailed to the Board of Supervisors of said County. The notices referred
to above shall be given not less than twenty (20) days before the said
public hearing on the proposed annexation.
