A -. "shotgun" start is common to large tournaments as it allows play to begin on both the lst and 10th tees at the same time. The tournament will involve approximately 200 junior players, including 40 from our Chula Vista Jr. Golf Club. The tournament will use starting times from approximatlly 7:00; a.m. to 12:00 noon. In addition. to the regulation 18 hole play, a special group of approximately 40 younger_ juniors will play 9 hole rounds beginning at 12 :00 noon. The expense involved in the waiver of greens fees will be approximately $670.00. A review of Monday's play at the golf course indicates the average morning 1.8 hole play is 45 players - the afternoon 18 hot -e- play is 85 players. The - Chula Vista City Jr-Championship Tournament, with the "shotgun" start, would completely close the golf course to public play during the hours .from 7:00 a.r:-i. to 12:00 noon. The tournament would not affect the afternoon 9 hole, -play. See EXHIBITS IQ No. 1 and 2 FIIVAA'CIAl, STATEMENT: Expense to the City for waiver of greens fees is approximately $670.00 plus the revenue lost from the closure of the course during the hours from 7:00 a.m, to 12:00 noon.
