HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 2001-377 RESOLUTION NO. 2001-377 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASING AGENT TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH SYNCHRONEX CORPORATION FOR THE ACQUISITION OF LIGHT-EMITTING DIODE (L.E.D.) PEDESTRIAN INDICATION EQUIPMENT AT A TOTAL COST OF $187,365.73, IN ACCORDANCE WITH TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF STATE OF CALIFORNIA MASTER AGREEMENT # 1-01-63 -06 WHEREAS, San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E) has an incentive program, which offers partial rebate to public agencies for the replacement of traffic signal incandescent lamps to L.E.D lamps; and WHEREAS, the proposed replacement work must be completed by December 15, 2001 in order to qualify for the rebate; and WHEREAS, the City is in a position to save up to $81,960.95 in equipment costs by converting all traffic signal pedestrian indication modules and yellow flashing beacons to L.E.D. lamps; and WHEREAS, the purchase of said equipment is the first step to the City's overall planned project to retrofit existing traffic signals with UPS equipment. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby authorize the Purchasing Agent to enter into a purchase agreement with Synchronex Corporation for the acquisition of Light Emitting Diode (L.E.D) pedestrian indication equipment at a total cost of $187,365.73, in accordance with terms and conditions of State of California Master Agreement #1-01-63-06.
