RESOLUTION N0~ 4129 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA EST,~BLISH~;N~; A SCHEDULE OF AVERAGE BUILDING VALIJATI:ONS The Cite Council. of the City of Chula Vista does hereby resol.~e as follows: WHEREAS, Section 8.8 of the Chula Vista City Code requires that tY1e City Counc~.1 adopt, by resolution, a schedule of average building valuations as recommended by the Chief of Building and Hous.~ng of the C~.ty of Chula Vista, and WHEREAS, the Chief of Building and Housing has made such recommendats.on to the Clty Council NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Chizla Vl.sta does hereby establish the following schedule of average :bra.ild~ng valuations: BUILDING TYPES p.-. Type I Buildings. The structural elements in Type I Build~.ngs shall be of steelF iron, concrete` or masonryE Walls and permanent. part:~t~or~s :hail be of incombustible fire-resistive con- struction except. that permanent nonbearing partitions of one-hour fire resistive construction may use fire retardant treated wood within the assembly. Materials of constrF.zction and fire-restive requirements shall. be as specified in Chapter 17 of the Uniform Building Coder. 2~ Type ][1 Bui.ldin.gs. The structural elements in Type II Buildings shall be of steel, iron, concrete or masonry. THE ABOVE VALUATION FIGURES ARE SUBJECT TO THE FOLLOWING MODIFIERS: For story he~.ghts over 10 feet, increase the unit cost by 3~ per foot of story height over 10 feet. F"'or multi-story buildings of Type I and II construction, determine the valuation cost from the sum of the floor areas of all stories. For multi-story buildings of Type III, IV and V construction, determine the valuation from the sum of the floor area of the ground floor, and 3/4 of the floor area of each floor above the ground floor. Ln computing total floor area, use 1/5 the floor area of open, roofed porches- For pile fou.ndati.ons, increase the valuation by $4.00 per lineal foot of pile for cast-~n-place concrete piles and $6.00 per lineal foor of pile for steel. piles. Apply other dwelling cost modifiers as follows: Each additional bath over two, add $600.00 Forced a~:r heat, add 400.00 Fireplace, add Small 400.00 Large 500.00 Siding or shakes, add 20~ per sq. ft.
