RESOLUTION N0. 4202 • •~ RESOLUTION OF Ti~E CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA ACCEPTING BIDS AND AWARDING CONTRACTS FOR THE PURCHASE OF SIX TRUCKS, APPROPRIATING THE NECESSARY FUNDS, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE SAID CONTRACTS ON BEHALF OF THE CITY The City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby resolve as follows: WHEREAS, the following eight bids were received and opened at 4:00 p.m. on the 13th day of September, 1966, at the Office of the Purchasing Agent, 707 "F" Street in the City of Chula Vista for the following items of automotive equipment: Item 1. Three (3) dump trucks, one complete with 4 to 6 yd. dump body, GVW 35,000 lbs., and two with cab and chassis only, GVW 21,000 lbs. Item 2. One (1) cab over engine cab and chassis, GVW 19,500 lbs. Item 3. One (1) cab over engine cab and chassis, GVW 16,000 lbs. Item 4. One (1) truck cab and chassis, GVW 15,000 lbs. minimum. Vendor Item 1 Item 2 Item 3 Item 4 D. P. Motors N.B. N.B. $4,3.99.49 $2,498.60 Fuller Ford $16,585.87 $3,717.59 $4,424.62 $2,837.16 and WHEREAS, the Purchasing Agent of the City of Chula Vista has recommended that the contracts for said automotive equipment be awarded to the low bidder on each item, i.e., Fuller Ford on Items 1 and 2, Stanley Dodge on Item 3, and Marck Motors on Item 4, who have assured the City that they are licensed vendors in the State of California and can produce acceptable performance bonds. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Chula Vista that the said eight bids be, and they are hereby accepted. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the contracts for Items 1 and 2 be, and they are hereby awarded to Fuller Ford, that the contract for Item 3 be, and it is hereby awarded to Stanley Dodge, and that the contract for Item 4 be, and it is hereby awarded to Marck Motors, and -1- that delivery of said items will be accomplished in the time limits set forth in the specifications. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the sum of $7,686.00 be, and the same is hereby appropriated from the unappropriated surplus of the General Fund for the purchase of Item 1. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor of the City of Chula Vista be, and he is hereby authorized and directed to execute said contracts fcr and on behalf of the City of Chula Vista.
