HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 1967-4324Form i~?o . 312 RESOLUTION NO. 4324 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA ACCEPTING BIDS AND AWARDING CONTRACT FOR INSTALLATION OF CIVIC CENTER LIGHTING, APPROPRIATING MONEY FOR SAID LIGHTING AND AUTHORIZING MAYOR TO EXECUTE SAID CONTRACT The City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby resolve as follows: WHEREAS, the following three bids were received and opened at 11:00 A.M, on the 6th day of February , 19 67 at the Civic Center, 276 Guava Avenue in the City of Chula Vista for the installation of lighting of the Civic Center Mall, the Civic Center Parking Lot and Fig Avenue: Arrow Electric $6,997.00 Perry Electric $7,417.00 Gulf Electric $9,289.00 and WHEREAS, the City Engineer has recommended that the contract for said Civic Center lighting be awarded to the low bidder, Arrow Electric who has assured the City that he is a licensed Contractor in the State of California, and that he can produce an acceptable performance bond. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Chula Vista that the said three bids be, and they are hereby accepted. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT the contract for said Civic Center lighting .. Form No. 312 Page 2 according to the specifications as approved by the City Engineer be, and it is hereby awarded to Arrow Electric and that said Civic Center lighting shall be completed according to said specifications. BE IT FURT~iER RESOLVED that the Mayor of the City of Chula Vista be, and he is hereby authorized and directed said contract for and on behalf of the City of Chula Vista. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the sum of $6,997.00 be, and the same is hereby appropriated from the capital improvement reserve of the General Fund for the purpose set forth hereinabove. It is mutually agreed that submission of a proposal shall be considered pri.zna facie evidence that the bidder ha's made such examination. (c) Pro~osa_1 Form - All proposals must be made upon blank forms to be obtained from the City Engineer at his office, Room 117, Civic Center. All proposals must give the prices proposed, both in writing and figures, and must be signed by the bidder, with his address. If the proposal is made by an individual, his name and postoffice address must be shown. If made by a firm or partnersh ip, the name and post- office address of each member ~~~ the firm or partnership must be shown. If made by a corporation, the proposal must show the name of the State under the laws of which the corporation was chartered, and also the name, titles and business address ~f the president, secretary and treasurer. (d) Rejection of Proposals Containing Alterations, Erasures or Irregularities - Proposals may b® rejected if they show any alterations of form, additions not called for, conditional ox alternative bids, in- complete bids, erasures, or irregularities of any kind.
