Form i~Io . 312 RESOLUTION N0. 4323 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA ACCEPTING BIDS AND AWARDING CONTRACT FOR INSTALLATION OF TRAFFIC SIGNAL AT HILLTOP DRIVE AND "J" STREET, AUTHORIZING THE EXPENDITURE OF FUNDS AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE SAID CONTRACT The City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby resolve as follows: WHEREAS, the following three bids were received and opened at 11:00 a.m. on the gth day of February - 19~Z, at the Civic Center, 276 Guava Avenue in the City of Chula Vista for installation of traffic signal at Hilltop Drive and "J" Street: Perry Electric $6,937.00 Arrow Electric $7,150.00 Fischbauch & Moore $7,698.00 and WHEREAS, the Oi ty -~;,,~, nPPr has recommended that the contract for said installation of traffic signal at Hilltop Drive and "J" Street be awarded to the low bidder, perry Electric who has assured the City that he is a licensed Contractor in the State of California, and that he can produce an acceptable performance bond. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Chula Vista that the said three bids be, and they are hereby accepted. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT the contract for said instal- lation of traffic signal at Hilltop Drive and "J" Street -1- Form No. 312 Page 2 according to the specifications as approved by the City Engineer be, and it is hereby awarded to perrv Electric and that said installation of traffic signal at Hilltop Drive and "J" Street shall be completed according to said specifications. BE IT FURT~3ER RESOLVED that the Maycr of the City of Chula Vista be, and he is hereby authorized and directed said contract for and on behalf of the City of Chula Vista. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the sum of $6,937.00 be and the same is hereby authorized to be expended from the 2107. Gas Tax Funds for the purpose set forth hereinabov e. Presented by Lane F. (b) Examination of Plans, Specifications, Special Provisions and Site of Work - The bidder is required to examine carefully the site of, and the proposal, plans, specifications and contract forms for the work contemplated, and it will be assumed that the bidder has investi- gated and is satisfied as to the conditions to be encountered, as to the character, quality, and quantities of work to be performed and materials to be furnished, and as to the requirements of the'specifi- catione, the special provisions, and the contract. It is mutually agreed that submission of a proposal shall be considered prima facie evidence that the bidder ha's made such examination. (c) Proposal. Form - All proposals must be made upon blank forms to be obtained from the City Engineer at his office, Room 117, Givie Center. All proposals must give the prices proposed, both in writing and figures, and must be signed by the bidder, with his address. If the proposal is made by an individual, his name and postoffice address must be shown. If made by a firm or partnersh ip, the namr: and post- office address of each member <~~ the firm or partnert~hip must be shown. If made by a corporation, the proposal must show the name of the State under the laws of which the corporation was chartered, and also the name, titles and business address of the president, secretary and treasurer.
