Item Title: Resolution - Accepting bids and awarding contract for one (1)
35 foot aerial personnel platform

Attached is a copy of Resolution [g] Ordinance [ ] Agreement [ ] Plat [ ]
Background:
At the meeting of March 28, 1972, Council authorized the special appropriation of funds
to purchase street tree maintenance equipment. Bids were opened and read at 2:00 P.M. on
June 12, 1972, in the office of the Purchasing Agent, for one (1) 35 foot aerial personnel
platform. Six vendors were mailed bidding forms. Four vendors responded as follows:

The specifications were prepared with safety and longevity being of prime concern.
The attached memo, Exhibit No. 1, from the Director of Public Works, lists critical
areas where bidders 1, 2 and 3 did not meet specifications.
The Purchasing Agent concurs with the report from the Director of Public Works, and
therefore recommends award of contract to Burruss Engine & Body Company, in the amount
of $12,346.00, plus sales tax of $617.30, for a total of $12,963.30.
