HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 1967-4453Form No. 312 Rev. 3-67 RESOLUTION NO. 4453 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA ACCEPTING BIDS AND AWARDING CONTRACT FOR FURNISHING THE CITY ITS REQUIREMENTS FOR ASPHALTIC EMULSION FOR THE 1967-68 FISCAL YEAR AND AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASING AGENT TO EXECUTE SAID CONTRACT The City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby resolve as follows: WHEREAS, the following four bids were received and opened at 10:00 A.M. on tree 26th day of Ma Y 19 67, at the Civic Center, 275 Guava Avenue in the City of Chula Vista for furnishing the City its requirements for asphaltic emulsion: Sim J. Harris Company $28.03 per ton Union Oil Co. of California (Phoenix) 27.21 per ton Chevron Asphalt Co. (E1 Segundo) 25.19 per ton Douglas Oil Co. of California (Los Angeles) 21.77 per ton WHEREAS, subsequent to the opening of said bids a request was received from Douglas Oil Company to withdraw their bid because of an error in their quotation, and the City Attorney concurred that the with- drawal should be allowed as all other bids were materially higher in amount and it was obvious that a mistake had occurred, and WHEREAS, the p„r~ha~in~ Agent has recommended that the contract for said asphaltic emulsion require- ments be awarded to the second lowest bidder, Chevron Asphalt Company , who has assured the City that he is a licensed Contractor in the State of California, and that he can produce an acceptable performance bond. NOW, THEP.EFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Chula Vista that the said three bids be, and they are hereby accepted. Form No. 312 Rev. 3-67 Page 2 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT the contract for said asphaltic emulsion requirements according to the specifications as approved by the purchasing Agent be, and it is hereby awarded to Chevron Asphalt Companv of El Segundo and that said delivery of asphaltic emulsion requirements shall be completed according to said specifications. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the P»rrha~in~~ent of the City of Chula Vista be, and he is hereby authorized and di- rected to execute said contract for and on behalf of the City of Chula Vista.
