RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHL'LA VISTA
ENDORSING THE NOMINATION OF SERGEANT ROBERT L. ZEITELHACK
FOR AWARD IN THE SECOND ANNUAL PRESENTATION OF THE PARADE-
IACP POLICE SERVICE AWARDS
The City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby
resolve as follows:
WrIEREAS, the Chief of Police of the City of Chula Vista has
announced the intention of nominating Sergeant ROBERT L. (BOB) ZEITELHACK
for award as the most outstanding law enforcement officer in t:~e second
annual presentation of the PARADE-IACP POLICE SERVICE AbVARDS, sponsored
by Parade Magazine and the Internation Association of Police, and
WHEREAS, Sergeant ZEITELIACK has been continuously employed
as a police officer in the City of Chula Vista since April 1, 1954, and
has consistently conducted himself in an exemplary manner, promoting
good police-community relations, in pursuing his official assignments,
and
bVHEREAS, Sergeant ZEITELHACK has worked effectively and con-
scientiously in developing School Safety Patrols at fourteen elementary
schools in the Chula Vista area, all of which have experienced an out-
standing safety record as a result of his efforts, and
WHEREAS, he has, in cooperation with the Chula Vista-Optimist
Club, organized and conducted annual programs in bicycle and pedestrian
safety for over 11,000 children in twenty-two elementary schools, and
WHEREAS, Sergeant ZEITELF~ACI{ gives freely of 'ris time on
weekends and holidays in providing recreation and entertainment for
boys engaged in School Safety Patrol work, and
WHEREAS, in all his contacts he promotes respect for law en-
forcement and provides leadership wiZich encourages responsible citizen-
ship, especially among the young people of our community.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Chula Vista, that said Council, on behalf of themselves and the citi-
zens of this community, unanimous:iy endorses the nomination of Sergeant
ROBERT L. ZEITELHACK for the PARADE-IACP POLICE SERVICE AWARD.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the City of Chula
Vista be, and he is hc_-eby directed to forward a~certified copy of this
resolution to PARADE-IACP POLICE SERVICE AWARDS in care of the Parade
Magazine.
