RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CHULA VISTA AMENDING THE COMPENSATION
SCHEDULE AND CLASSIFICATION PLAN TO REFLECT
CHANGES IN THE COMPENSATION FOR THE CBAG
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR AND CBAG DEPUTY EXECUTIVE
DIRECTOR
WHEREAS, the Police Department entered into an agreement with the Office of National
Drug Control Policy in 1996 to be the fiscal agent for the California Border Alliance Group
(CBAG); and
WHEREAS, per HIDTA (High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area) policy, the CBAG
Executive Director and CBAG Deputy Executive Director positions are tied to the Federal
General Schedule Salary Table; and
WHEREAS, the Chula Vista Compensation plan needs to be updated to reflect the
current Federal General Schedule Salary for both of these positions; and
WHEREAS, the full costs of all CBAG positions are reimbursed by the Office of
National Drug Control Policy.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED with the above findings incorporated herein,
the City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby approve amending the compensation
schedule and classification plan to reflect changes in the compensation for the CBAG Executive
Director and CBAG Deputy Executive Director as follows: the CBAG Executive Director's
compensation is set to GS IS Step 4 ($136,101 annually or $5,234.65 biweekly) and the CBAG
Deputy Executive Director's compensation is set to GS 14 Step 4 ($115,703 annually or
$4,450.12 biweekly).
