SUBJECT: Resolution - Approving special appropriation of funds for
implementation of Public Employment Program
Your office is requested to prepare the necessary [X] Resolution;
[ ] Ordinance; [ ] Agreement, to be presented to the City Council for
action on Nov. 2 , 1971 , on the subject matter.
Supporting information: (Use other side if necessary)
In order to implment the PEP, pursuant to Council minute action
to pursue obtaining grant funds, it will be necessary to purchase
certain equipment. Therefore, an appropriation in the amount of
$15,950 is requested, from the unappropriated surplus of the
General Fund. The City will be reimbursed for these funds
by the PEP grant via administrative costs.

ation to be incurred. by the contract or agreement author-
ized by the attached resolution can be incurred without
the violation of any of the provisions of the Charter of
the City of Chula Vista, or the Constitution or the laws
of the State of California, that sufficient monies have
been appropriated for the purpose of said contract, that
sufficient monies to meet the obligations of the contract
are actually in the Treasury, or are anticipated to come
into the Treasury to the credit of the appropriation from
which the same are to be drawn, and that said monies now
actually in the Treasury, together with the monies antic-
ipated to come into the Treasury, to the credit of said

PEP Employee
The following information is submitted, in accordance with your
request:
The =amount of on -the -job training and
supervision the Senior Clerk position
will require will be approximately one
to two hours a day, or 15% of her total
time.
The City Clerk will be responsible for
both the training and supervision.
Salary range of the City Clerk is
909 - 1105 with 954 as the Present
salary.

SUBJECT: PEP Employees
The Assistant City Manager has directed us to request the following
information regarding PEP employees which will be assigned to your
department.
1. The amount of on- the -job training each position will require and
the salary range and classification of the position who will
train the PEP employee.
2. The amount of supervision which each position will require per
week and the salary range and classification of the position
which will supervise the PEP employee.
Since this information must be submitted with the grant application,
this requested information must be received in this office by Monday
morning, November 1, at 10:00 A.M.
