HomeMy WebLinkAboutAgenda Statement 1971/10/26 Item 10CITY OF CHULA VI.51'�" STAFF COMMENTARY ON AGENDA ITEM NO. 10 CITY COUNCIL MELTING OF, 10 -26 -71 ITEM TITLE: Resolution - City's intention to abate nuisance - drainage channel maintenance INITIATOR: Director of Public Works /City Engineer ACTION REQUESTED: Adoption of resolution setting public hearing Copy of ResoZtcti.on O Ordinance El Agreement Q PZat attached BACKGROUND: On 7- 23 -71, in accordance with City Code Section 26.117(a), Abatement of Nuisance, notice was sent to owners of 14 parcels adjacent to the Central Drainage Channel, east of Fifth Avenue, ordering the clean up of the drainage channel within 20 days. No work has been performed by the property owners to this date. La Fontana Associates, owners of the La Fontana Apartments, have indicated that they would prefer the City perform the work and bill them for their share of the work. This resolution calls for a public hearing on this matter on November 16, 1971. See EXHIBITS O No. 1 FINANCIAL STATEMENT: Not applicable COMMISSION -BOARD RECOMMENDATION: Not applicable DEPARTMENT - F, AP, RECOMMENDATION: Recommend that public hearing be set to determine appropriate direction for the Director of Public Works regarding this matter.
