Cole, Director of Public Works TO: City Attorney SUBJECT: Accepting Bids and Awarding Contract for the Installation of Traffic Signals at Fifth Avenue and "L" Street Your office is requested to prepare the necessary [)d Resolution; [ ] Ordinance; [ ] Agreement; to be presented to the City Council for action on September 14 , 19 71, on the subject matter. Supporting information: (Use other side if necessary) On September 7, 1971 at 11 A.M., the Public Works Director received two bids for the installation of traffic signals at 5th Avenue and "L" Street; Arrow Electric Company - $11,111.11 and Perry Electric Company - $10,300. The Engineer's estimate was $9,200. Funds to finance this work will come from Gas Tax 2107 funds under Project 150 -1. It is recommended that the City Council accept the bids and award the contract to the Perry Electric Company. The total amount of Gas Tax funds allocated for Projects 150 -1 (5th and "L ") and 150 -2 (East "L ", Telegraph Canyon Road & Nacion) is $30,000. Expenditures for 150 -1 will be $10,300, leaving the remainder of $19,700 for Project 150 -2. Attachments: Originating Dept. No. E -137
