The City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby
resolve as follo~~~s

traffic'pattern to serve said area via a street system conforming to

access in an east-west direction to Tid.ela_nd.s Avenue, which constitutes
the m.a~or north-south roadway serving said area, anc~.
?~?IIEREAS, the City Council has heretofore indicated its inten-
tion and. desire to provi.d.e said alternative access roads and to establish
such a road system in this area adjacent to the tidelands by th.e f..ollow-
ina actions:
1. AcnuisitiOn o.f easements a.nd improvements of "temporary
Tidelands Avenue'° from "F" Street south to th.e dedicated.
and improved portion of Tidelands at a cost in excess of
$30, 0~`0,
2, Allocation of Gas Tax Funds i_n the sum of_ $67,000.00
in fiscal _yea.rs 1Q66-67 and 1907-68 for the im~r_ovement
of the east-west access road., "J" Street, which ~?ro~ect
has been delayed pending necessary alignment and. d.edi.-
cation of the intersection ~>>ith Tidelands Avenue.
~. Dlegotiation with the Sa.n Diego & Arizona Eastern
Railroad .f_or railroad crossing rights for "J" Street
presently being pursued.
4 Adoption of Freeway agreement sho~aina "J" and "F"
Streets as primary access ways and a north-south frontage
road west Of and adjacent to the proposed freeway, serving
all properties west of the freeway, a.nd
WHEREAS, the Council has now acted to vacate said portion of
"G" Street effective upon developrmer_t of permanent dedicated alternative
access roads outlined herein and it is therefore essential to proceed
in cooperation ~~Ji.th the San Diego Unified. Port District to accomplish.
those programs heretofore planned and pr.oarammed.

rd0~^~, THE_R,FFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the
City of_ Chula Vista does hereby declare its intention to:
1. Dedicate to full width and imn_rove, as presently required
and recommended by the Department. of Public~U7o_r_ks that portion
of °'J" Street from jlTest Bav Boulevard. westerly to Ti delanc~s
Avenue.
2. Allocate from Gas Tax Func':s such sums as are necessary,
either now or in tre budget of 196£3-69 to accomplish such
improvements.
3. Cooperate with the San Diego Unified Port District to
properly align '°J" Street and Tidelands Avenue.
4. Undertake, as soon as practicable, the acquisition,
dedication and improvement of the permanent alignment of.
Tidelands Avenue south~ti~a.rd from "F" Street to th.e improved
and dedicated portion of saic~i street.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council hereby authorizes
and directs the Administrative Of..f_icer, the Director of public T4orks,
the Director of Plannin.q and. the Plarninq Commission to take all necessary
steps to immediately ca.r.ry out the p.roaram outlined hereinabove.
