HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 1969-5069RESOLUTION NO• 5069 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA, REVISING THE STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS AND DRAWINGS, AS APPROVED BY RESOLUTION NO. 4712, TO COVER STANDARDS TO BE OBSERVED IN MAKING CUTS AND FILLS, AND PLANTING SLOPES AND MAKING SOIL TESTS, IN CONNECTION WITH THE PROVISIONS OF ORDINANCE NO, 1163, ADOPTED ON THE 21st DAY OF JANUARY, 1969 The City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby resolve as follows: WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 4712, adopted on the 5th day of March, 1968, the City Council of the City of Chula Vista approved and adopted certain standard specifications and drawings to cover the construction of public improvements in the City of Chula Vista, and WHEREAS, subsequent to the adoption of said resolution, the City Council adopted Ordinance No. 1163, relating to land grading, excavations and fills in the City of Chula Vista, and WHEREAS, the adoption of said Ordinance No. 1163 necessitates the preparation and approval of certain drawings depicting standards to be observed in making cuts and fills, in the planting of slopes, and in making certain soil tests under the provisions of said ordinance. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that those certain standard specifications and drawings adopted and approved by Resolution No. 4712 on the 5th day of March, 1968 be, and the same are hereby amended by including therein Drawings No. 601-A, 601-B, 602-A, 602-B, 603, 604, 605, 606, 607-A, 607-B and 607-C, as set forth in Exhibit "A" attached hereto and made a part hereof, copies of which are on file in the Office of the Director of Public Works and the Office of the City Clerk. FILL SLOPES - EXCESSIVE HEIGHT --- WHERE THE TOTAL VERTICAL HEIGHT OF A FILL SLOPE EXCEEDS SIXTY FEET (60') A SPECIAL DESIGN SHALL BE MADE AND SUBMITTED TO THE CITY ENGINEER FOR APPROVAL. 11. FILL SLOPES - PLANTING --- ALL FILL SLOPES IN EXCESS OF FOUR FEET IN VERTICAL HEIGHT SHALL BE PLANTED WITH A GROUND COVER OR OTHER PLANTING TO PROTECT THE SLOPES AGAINST EROSION AND INSTABILITY AS SOON AS PRACTICAL AND PRIOR TO FINAL APPROVAL OF THE LAND DEVELOPMENT.
