RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA
APPROVING SCHEMATICS AND ESTIMATES IN CONNECTION WITH PHASE
I OF THAT CERTAIN AGREEMENT WITH RICHARD GEORGE WHEELER,
A.I.A. AND ASSOCIATES, AND AUTHORIZING SAID FIRM TO PROCEED
WITH PHASE II
The City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby
resolve as follows:
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Chula Vista, at a
Council Conference held on Tuesday, March 25, 1969, reviewed the
schematics and cost estimates submitted by the firm of Richard George
Wheeler, A.I.A. and Associates for the proposed Police Facility, and
WHEREAS, said schematics indicated as optional terms, a full
basement and a covered walkway and screening wall to be constructed
concurrent with the construction of the basic Police Facility and
the necessary landscaping of the Plaza area, and
WHEREAS, the agreement with said architectural firm stipulates
that the architect shall not proceed with the work for each of the
successive phases until he has received written approval from the City
of work accomplished in the current phase and further authorization to
proceed with the necessary phases of the work.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Chula Vista that the work submitted by the firm of Richard. George
Wheeler, A.I.A. and Associates in phase I of that certain agreement
dated July 5, 1967 as amended, be and the same is hereby approved to
include as a part of the development and construction of the Police
k'acility, a full basement, covered walkway and screening wall and
landscaping of the Plaza area as indicated on the schematics provided.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said architectural firm be auth-
orized to proceed with phase II of said work which shall include the
following:
Phase II. Preliminary plans and specifications. Architect
shall prepare and furnish to City a complete set of prelim-
inary plans and specifications for the police facility,
including the site plan, area map, floor plan of each of the
building levels, sketches indicating architectural treatment
of significant details, typical elevations and cross sections,
floor and roof framing plans and typical structural details,
and all necessary preliminary electrical, mechanical and
structural engineering. In addition, Architect shall notify
City whether or not there is any indicated adjustment in
previous estimates of the project construction costs arising
from market fluctuations or approved changes in scope or re-
quirements, and shall submit for approval a final estimate
of the project construction cost complete in all details.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be and he is hereby
authorized and directed to forward a certified copy of this resolution
to Richard George Wheeler, A.I.A. and Associates.
