Item Title: Resolution - Accepting Bids and Awarding Contract for the
Construction of a Gravity Sewer in "C" Street and
North Fifth Avenue

Attached is a copy of Resolution (X] Ordinance [ ) Agreement [ ] Plat [
Background:
The Director of Public Works received formal bids on May 2, 1972
for the construction of a gravity sewer in "C" Street and North
Fifth Avenue to the Spring Valley Outfall Sewer. The construction
of the gravity sewer will effectuate the abandonment of the "C" St.
pump station.
The City Council, by Resolution 6342, on February 8, 1972, funded
this project in the amount of $95,000 and authorized the Director
of Public ~~Yorks to advertise for bids. The list of bidders and
their accompanying bid amounts are listed below. The low bid of
$34,600, submitted by R. S. Construction Company, is 5.5~ below
the Engineer's estimate. ($36,600).
1. R.S. Construction Co. $34,600.00
2. Nelson Construction Co., Inc. 41,612.64
3. Virgil Woolard Construction Co. 81,362.00
Extra costs may occur because bid quantities are approximate and
there may be some utilities relocation or protection.
