HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 1970-5557RESOLUTION NO. 5557 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA APPOINTING ELECTION OFFICERS AND CONSOLIDATING POLLING PLACES FOR THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD IN THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA ON APRIL 14, 1970 The City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby resolve as follows: WHEREAS, under the provisions of the Charter of the City of Chula Vista, a regular General Municipal Election shall be held on the 14th day of April, 1970, for the election of a Mayor, short term, and two Councilmen, and to submit certain propositions to the qualified electors of said City. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Chula Vista that NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a General Muni- cipal Election will be held in the City of Chula Vista (including the Chula Vista City School District) County of San Diego, State of California, on the 14th day of April, 1970. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that for the purpose of holding said regular general municipal election, there shall be and are hereby established sixty (6 C?} voting precincts within said City and School District, consisting of consolidations of regular election precincts established for holding State and County elections. The respective precincts and the respective boards of election for said respective precincts are as designated in Exhibit "A" attached hereto and by this reference made a part hereof. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that all of the persons named in said Exhibit "A" are hereby named as election officers, respectively, and their compensation is hereby fixed at the sum of $21.00 for each Inspector, and the sum of $18.00 for each Judge and Clerk for said election. The rental for each of such polling places shall be the sum of $15.00 plus $2..00 per polling place for the delivery of ballots. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the polls for said election shall be open at seven o'clock a.m. of the date of said election, and shall remain open continuously from said time until seven o'clock p.m. of the same day, when said polls will be closed.
