[ 14] CHULA VISTA CITY COUNCIL MEETING OF: October 11, 1973 ITEM TITLE: Resolution - Approving purchase of Fire Department items with revenue sharing funds INITIATED BY: Fire Department BACKGROUND Detroit Diesel Engine 671N - $7,000 including tax This equipment is requested to replace (repower) the motive power engine (Waukesha 6 cylinder 817 CID) on pumper ~~1 which has been rendered in- operable with a cracked cylinder block. Pumper 4~1 is a 1965 Seagrave 1000 gallon per minute appara tus with eight (8) years of service, normal operating life expectancy of twenty (20) years. The diesel engine requested would be a Detroit Diesel 671N. The department presently has in service three (3) diesel power units, two (2) pumpers and one (1) aerial ladder truck with the above mentioned engine as motive power. Funds requested will be allocated from the 10°s portion of the Revenue Sharing Funds designated for operational costs of the City.
