CHULA VISTA CITY COUNCIL MEETING OF: October 2, 1973
ITEM TITLE: Resolution - Approving Agreement for State
Administration of Local Sales and Use Taxes

Amendments to the Bradley-Burns law made by AB-309 and
SB-90 will be operative January 1, 1974. Any city
which has not amended its Bradley-Burns ordinance by
that time will cease to be a conforming city and will
lose its Bradley-Burns revenue for at least three
months.
The State Board of Equalization has forwarded a draft
of the amendments to the ordinance and a draft of the
new agreement for administration which have been
reviewed by the County Supervisors Association and the
League of California Cities.
The new agreement is designed to update the previous
agreement entered into September 11, 1956, to conform
to previous changes in the law and to provide for
transmittals of money by deposit in a bank in Sacramento
designated by the City.
The new agreement and amending ordinance must be
received by the State Board of Equalization by
November 1, 1973.
