HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 1968-4643R RESOLUTION NO. 4643 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUrdCIL OF THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA MODIFYING THE PROVISIONS OF SECTION 27.19 (d) OF THE CHULA VISTA CITY CODE WITH RESPECT TO THE MAXIMUM PERCENTAGE OF DRIVEWAY FRONTAGE AND WAIVING SAID REQUIREMENTS WITH RESPECT TO THE PROPERTY LOCATED AT 26 "L" STREET IN SAID CITY The City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby resolve as follows: WHEREAS, Section 27.20 of the Chula Vista City Code authorizes the City Council to modify the limitations contained in Section 27.19 of said Code, and WHEREAS, Mr. Donald J. Driscoll has heretofore requested a waiver of the requirements of Section 27.19 (d) of the Chula Vista City Code, to allow him to have two driveways, one 15 feet wide, and one 20 feet wide, on his property located at 26 "L" Street in the City of Chula Vista, which combined width is 6 foot over and above the amount of front footage allowable under the provisions of Section 27.19(d) of the City Code, and WHEREAS, this request for waiver of the requirements of Section 27.19(d) is necessitated by a City project, the widening of "L" Street, which has created parking problems for the applicant for said special driveway permit, and WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works has considered said re- quest, and recommends to the City Council the waiver of the requirements of said section, based upon the fact that the additional driveway frontage will not adversely affect traffic or visibility and other conditions in the area and that strict application of the provisions of Section 27.19 (d) would create particular difficulties and prove an unnecessary hardship for the property owner. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Chula Vista that the maximum limitation of driveway frontage, as set forth in Section 27.19 (d) of the Chula Vista City Code, be, and the same is hereby waived insofar as the property located at 26 "L" Street in said City is concerned, and that the driveway frontage maximum limitation for said property is hereby increased to 36 feet.
