RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA
FIXING TAXICAB FARES IN SAID CITY, AND AMENDING RESOLUTION
N0. 3200
The City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby
resolve as follows:
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Chula Vista, pursuant
to Resolution No. 3200, adopted on the 17th day of September, 1963,
established taxicab rates of fare in the City of Chula Vista, as follows:
The taxicab rates of fare shall be fifty cents ($0.50)
for the first one-third mile (or lesser fraction), ten
cents ($0.10) for each additional one-third mile (or
lesser fraction), and four dollars eighty cents ($4.80)
per hour for waiting time,
and
WHEREAS, the taxicab companies operating within the City
of Chula Vista, being Carnation Cab Company, Diamond Cab Company and
San Diego Yellow Cabs, Inc., requested an increase in said taxicab
rates of fare, and
WHEREAS, the City Council has heretofore, on October 31, 1967,
held a public hearing to consider the adjustment of said rates in accordance
with the request of said taxicab companies, and
WHEREAS, the City Council does hereby determine that the in-
crease in said rates is reasonable.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council, pursuant
to the provisions of Section 31.2 of Division 1, Chapter 31, of the
Chula Vista City Code, does hereby fix the rates of fare for the trans-
portation by taxicab of any passenger or passengers within the city
limits of the City of Chula Vista as follows:
The taxicab rates of fare shall be fifty cents ($0.50)
for the first one-quarter mile (or lesser fraction);
ten cents ($0.10) for each additional one-quarter mile
(or lesser fraction), and four dollars eighty cents
($4.80) per hour waiting time.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Resolution No. 3200, adopted on
the 17th day of September, 1963, be and the same is hereby amended to
reflect said increased taxicab rates of fare.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said rates, fixed hereby, shall
remain in effect until amended by resolution of the City Council, and
shall be effective from and after November 1, 1967.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be, and he is
hereby directed to maintain in the Office of the City Clerk the rate
schedule adopted hereby.
